It was my first foreign travel to Malaysia in-order to see my ailing sister that inspired me to write a book. My visit was in December 1999 and the period was tempered with anxiety, expectations and wild rumor about the transition from 1999 to 2000, otherwise known as 2YK problem. This prompted me to collect and compile important events and information between 1900 and 1999. Almost all important events of significance are arranged here in a systematic way international, national and local — year-wise. So actually it is a reference book.
